Parent orientation

How long do parents generally stay for orientation? Should I be making hotel reservations for the friday and saturday nites?

the schedule at orientation is pretty full for the kids… you can squeeze in a trip to Target (or Bed Bath and Beyond), I’m sure, but don’t expect to hang out with the kid. They will go to meals with their new friends and starting to bond as a freshman hall.

According to the Tribe Guide, parent Orientation begins at 2:00pm on August 24 and lasts until noon on August 25 ([William & Mary - Parents](http://www.wm.edu/offices/deanofstudents/services/orientation/tribeguide/parents/index.php))

A detailed schedule of the Family Orientation will be available July 1st. Check Tribe Guide for info.

Once the kids begin orientation at 2 pm on Friday, you won’t see them again. They are pretty much with their OA and hall from then until Tuesday.

I had not planned on being with S ( I am sure he does not want to be with me!!!) but was more wondering about the schedule of events. I will consult the Tribe Guide. Thanks for the info.

I will add that I made hotel reservations for Friday night at HH as it the place we are staying for Parent’s weekend. They have a 20 percent off deal if you pay when you book. It puts the HH in-line with the other hotels out on the periphery of the campus. There are no deals available for PW however.

The hotels are already booking up for Orientation. FYI.
