Parent's advice about a car for ADD college student

Pros, cons, real life experiences, recommendations appreciated. Will it improve efficiency and time management because errands are easier, or will it take time/focus away from studies?

My D just had her first “fender bender”, 7 months after getting her license, so my vote would be not to take the car. Do most freshmen have cars on her campus?

I find the car to be a huge help – otherwise I’d have to take a lot more time off in order to get to doctors appointments and to get my meds. The argument against is that as an ADD driver it is a lot harder to stay focused, sometimes I have to say no to give people rides even though I have another seat because I have a hard time focusing with so many people in the car.

I can’t imagine any reason for or against a car because of ADD. I have one to use when I am home, not when I am at school. It is more convenient for any student to have a car and thus would be so for ADD, but I don’t see why it would be more or less so unless there is a problem with access to the pharmacy for meds.
