Recently, I was accepted into one of the top 10 liberal arts colleges in the country and have officially committed. I am fortunate enough to have parents that are able to pay the full tuition and all other expense. They are both doctors and have always told me I only have the option to become a doctor. Now that they will be paying for my private school tuition, I feel even more obligated to listen to them. I have always wanted to major in anthropology or English and go on the pre-law track. I am not disregarding the idea of becoming a physician, I just know it’s not where my heart lies. Has anyone else ever experienced this before and has any advice?
This is more prevalent than you might think. You can take pre-med pre-requisites while majoring in anthropology or English. Take MCAT and then decide.
Agree…you can take pre-med courses with any major. So it is fine to major in anthropology or English and take the required pre-med coursework. See how things go. You can always take both the MCAT and LSAT down the road. If you can show the potential to get into a top law school (high GPA and high LSAT) your parent’s may change their minds.

I was thinking the same thing.
I know a few lawyers who majored in engineering or CS, then went to law school. They specialize in aspects of law that are related to engineering or CS. I have to think that there are lawyers who specialize in aspects of law that are related to medicine.
Of course this would require that you maintain a high GPA in very tough classes, but that is true for medical school also.
