I would love to hear how everyone's children are faring their first few weeks. Our daughter loves it. Her classes are interesting and challenging, with no more than 20 in her largest class. She has met a lot of great new friends. She goes to the Weinstein Center every day to work out and loves the facility. She does not like her Core teacher (what else is new) and has met and had great interaction with her advisor. She feels totally safe on campus. No news of swine flu yet!!!

Have heard from my daughter quite a bit. She too does not particularly like her Core teacher or class although she loves English in general. She is taking the Integrated Science program which she loves except for the review work they’re doing in Math right now (says they did that stuff 3 years ago). Loves the food, loves the dorm. Generally very happy at school. She makes sure to always walk with a buddy after dark which is important because she’s in the orchestra which meets in the evening.

Sharon, what dorm is she in? Ours is in Jeter, the one that was to close for renovation. But her room is huge and she loves the location.

Yikes, all three of my former dorms are now women’s dorms…

My first year, we were still on the opposite side of the lake from the girls and I was in Moore. The following year, I was in Wood, and Moore became a women’s dorm. My junior year, I was in Jeter, which has a TON of character, and watched as Wood received an estrogen injection.

investor, D is in Lora Robbins which works out really well for her since the Integrated Quantitative which meets daily is in Gotwald and orchestra is in one of the Modlin buildings so she just has english and core on the other side of the lake. She has the largest room on the floor but its closest to the front door (security worry) and only has 1 window. She’s happy with it which is the only thing that matters.
