Parents of the HS Class of 2011 - Original

Good friend of mine’s tippy top wonderful S was wait-listed to Brown several years ago, denied to all ivies and Stanford. It was a huge shock. However, he was moved off the wait list and is now a very successful (always straight A in HS and college) senior at Brown. (Plus–now knows this was really the completely perfect school for him). Maybe such will happen to those who are in pain here. :(

Dartmouth no, but Cornell YES!!! At least no more waitlists.

One more, Williams, later tonight. Then we’re through (except for FA).

Hugs to the kids and parents who are needing it tonight.

Awwww Pepper. Its great that you are OK about it though. I think it helps our kids a lot when we can keep our equilibrium. So strength to you and others going through this.

I am glued to this Board. We are all pulling for you, those that are still waiting.

Hurrah for Momdoc! My nephew went to Cornell, and loved it. Pepper - I’ve been reading your posts through this ordeal, and it sounds to me like your DS has great options. Better yet, he has a wonderful mother to help him through this (in the grand scheme of things) blip in his life.

Yes, even those of us 2010ers lurking are pulling for everyone and hoping for the best outcomes for all, even if the outcome is a no that truly opens their hearts and minds to where they should really end up!

Best to all in these final days/hours! And may you get fabulous FA!

OMG, OMG, OMG!!! DS came screaming downstairs!!! He got into Princeton!!! Miracles do happen!!! He won the lottery!!! Celebrating.

Good luck/congrats to everyone else–haven’t had chance to read will catch up later and tell funny story on what happened.

CONGRATS, VAMom! Wonderful news!! Enjoy the moment!

Yay!
325-Columbia!
momdoc-Cornell!
VAMom2015-Princeton!

Let’s keep the roll rolling!

VAMom - CONGRATS to S on Princeton!!!

Momdoc - CONGRATS on Cornell!!!

Thanks, 325…Congrats on Columbia, too!

Thank you to all who have taken the time to send congratulations. You are all so kind…it’s so nice to have someone to share with!

Woohoo! Congrats to Momdoc on Cornell and Vamom on Princeton!!

Congrats VAMom - love the Princeton campus, we are about 1 hr north of that. Last yrs track star and salutorian went there, just went into her parent’s store this pm and heard that she is just loving it there, hard work but good people.
Momdoc -Congrats on Cornell!
And 325 - Yea to Columbia!! My dd1’s dream school right now (I have 2 yrs to bring her down to affordable alternatives to learn Korean so she can understand what her favorite korean boy bands are saying - yes, she’s a groupie)
Pepper - I’m sorry ds is taking it hard, hopefully being around all his teammates tonight will make it easier tommorow - kind of the bandaid approach. My ds has been kind of mopey when the scholarships didn’t come through for his #1 choice, and then not again for #2 choice, so he was like “is this all I have left?” but once those doors were shut in his mind and he opened himself up to #3 - he started to actually find reasons to be psyched about #3.

VaMom - How wonderful - Princeton! My daughter went to two summer camps there, and loved the campus and the town. She saw John Forbes Nash occasionally walking about campus - having read A Beautiful Mind, she left him to his thoughts, but it was so extraordinary to see a legend walking down the sidewalks.

Pepper - I am sorry that your son is so disappointed…

Congrats to 325, VAMom, Momdoc!!!

Congratulations to all of the good news so far this evening!

My D is heading to Brown - very happy :)

I am glad to see people getting good news here!.

Thanks for the kind words. I am a firm believer that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. He’ll be better for this day-he wasn’t meant to be at those schools for whatever reason.

I wonder how he is surviving that banquet-poor kid.

Huzzah for the kids getting happy news, and huzzah for the kids who aren’t but who are going to be Just Fine regardless. May all of them continue to go from strength to strength.

Princeton: yes!
Harvard: still waiting for email…

We got a yes to Duke. This is the only one he would have been disappointed with. Big relief. Now the decision.

SO happy for the yes’s to Ivies. Very proud of your kids. Keep the news coming. We are out to dinner to celebrate the ending this.
