Parents pressuring you to go to public colleges?

What state do you go to Musicallylatin? West Virginia lol?

Even worse...Idaho.

Idaho XD

You called your self a... nvm I'm getting too childish.

Ouch I feel sorry for you Music. That must really suck.

^Ahhh ha ha...you're so funny. :|
When I moved here I got that a lot.

It kind of does considering everyone's dream school here has an acceptance rate of 80%.

lollllllll

^^ Bemidji State University

Initials are BSU

hmmm

I would rather die than go to Bemidji State. No lie.

Wishwash...that does look like hell.

Plue00, no one where I live gets that joke. One of the universities in Idaho...ironically one of the "best"...is Boise State University...
I'm shocked I'm one of the few at my school who has realized it is BSUniversity.

We have LSU lol. At least it is recognizable.

Just like Bemidji!

toxage are u from GA?? its sorta a personal reason that i don't want to attend to GA tech. i'm from canada..LOVE the snow, the cold, i love coming home with a red nose, like skiing- think u get the idea and im aiming for an ivy because i KNOW i can do it

^Exactly Wishwash.

Gosh, I feel sorry for you. That place looks like, well, like you'll be spending your friday nights with huntin' buddies covered in deer urine trying to shoot "the big one".

My parents are pressuring me, but it's mostly just about finances, and they're really more pressuring me to get scholarships.
And I'd trade UIUC for SUNY Geneseo any day. The SUNY system's nice- you get a variety of public schools to select that don't suck. Here it's U of I or a glorified party school with no academics.

My parents said Ivy League + Stanford, MIT, Duke or University of Delaware which really makes me mad. I live walking distance from this college so I feel like I wouldn't even get the real experience if I went there. So basically it's like a punishment for not getting into Ivy caliber schools.

I think they actually prefer a private school.

I'll probably get more financial aid there and they like that they are smaller (the ones I'm looking at anyways).

My parents really don't care as long as I go to college.

My unlce on the other hand...I WANT YOU CLOSE TO US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I have to hear about the nursing program one more time...

I like UMD. If I don't get into any of my 4 reaches, I'll gladly attend. I'll have to move away from the beach, though, since UMD is.. like 2 hours away. :[

My parents are willing to pay pretty much anything if I'm honestly in love with a school. They let my sister go to a mega-expensive school (Northwestern) so now they sort of have to say yes to my desires. They just won't seem to say yes to international.

I guess I'm lucky to live in a state where the in-state rates aren't even that good. Some schools in Northern Kentucky (I live in Southern Ohio) will give me rates that are better. But there's no way I'm going to school in KY. And my parents would hate it if I went to OSU. It's a huge party school and they want me to go to the tiniest school they can find. They don't quite like UMich either, and that's a really good school.

My parents are pushing Berkeley/UCLA cause they're close and cheaper, but I'm D Y I N G to go East Coast :D

Ugh. My parents want me to go to the University of Oklahoma. My dad says he wants football tickets, and my mother says she wants me close and that New York is too scary. Ha.

I have to get out of this state. I'm applying to Columbia and some other private universities, and my parents just don't get it!

My mom actually forbade me from applying to University of Oregon because she knew that I would be unhappy there. She told me that "money will be found" so I can attend a private school. And I believe her too, because I have affluent relatives and she just got a research grant.
