Okay,
I have an issue.
My parents refuse to fill in a lot of the info for the parent section regarding age (DOB), school they attended and even how much they make!

I am going to my schools college office to ask for help, because as of right now I am putting into some of the spaces "Choose not to respond".
Do you guys have any info that could help me?
Has this happened to anyone else before?

They keep calling this program a waste of time, so that might be part of the reason why they choose not to help me.
I can not fill out the section on my own because they have never told me some of that stuff about themselves (I know that is kind of silly).

Any help would be great.

wow, that’s crazy. I don’t know exactly how to help you, maybe show them some of the threads on this forum? Is there any particular reason why they refuse to give you this information. If they are embarrassed about their financial position or education, they don’t have a reason to be since most of us are in the same boat. Maybe as a last resort, you could email the QB people and ask them what to do. I wouldn’t be surprised if they would be willing to talk to your parents about the benefits of this program since your situation is so unique. I know that if I were a worker there, I would be more than willing to talk to your parents and explain the benefits of it.

^
Thanks.
But for them it’s more like a security thing. They feel as if the program could be false even though I have told them time and time again that it is not. My dad feels like his identity could be stolen through the site and whatnot ad he does not feel safe putting his info on the site.

It’s for a semi-silly reason like that.
I have shown them how real the program is and they still do not like it.
Because of this I have held off asking for my teacher rec because I would hate to watse their time if my parents will not even allow me to attempt to eneter the scholarship.

Questbridge would probably be more than willing to talk to your parents. If they’re still not convinced, you could show them Questbridge’s link on the various partner schools’ websites.

Have your parents call the admissions office at Yale or Princeton and have them ask, “Is Questbridge a legitimate outfit?” If the people at Yale or Princeton can’t convince your parents, then no one will.

This is probably the best idea. That way, they can be doubly sure, since it is coming not just from Questbridge, but from the country’s top schools.

That sounds like a great idea.
Thanks.
