Well I had a really long talk with my parents, and decided I’m going to hold off on CSU. I’ll go to CC to get an associates degree so I could at least get a better job with that degree while still going to school for a bachelors degree. I am not considered in state so yeah it’ll cost much more than if I were in state. Waiting will definitely be a good thing for that fact. Thank you guys so much for all the help!

You CAN be considered in-state if you don’t go to school for one year and one day. IF you go to school the residency doesn’t accrue. Considering how much you’d save by not going to school Spring semester, it may make it well worth your time to hold off registering anywhere, and working Spring and Summer. For the UC’s, it means a $30,000 saving!
(you have to work without going to school for 365+1 days otherwise you “lose” your shot at in-state tuition for the duration of your studies. You will not, ever, be considered “in state” if you have worked for 4 months then attended college.)
Even for community college, the difference means a LOT of money.
