I called them up they said I could only do it if there is room and thats highly unlikely by the time May comes around. I just e - mailed them saying it doesn’t reflect my academic abilities and that if they wish to evaluate me on my mid year grades I’ll be happy to send them. Again I wanted to apply next year for this reason.

“Stony Brook does not allow you to retake the ACT after h.s.”

How is Stony Brook going to stop you from taking it? Most schools accept the new scores if a student has less than 30 credits.

Do you have SAT subject tests to submit along with any new tests? It can’t hurt you to submit scores if they are drastically improved from your previous scores.

Yes I do. A 610 on bio and a 690 on U.S history. Worth sending? And they look at the date

I noticed all the colleges you were considering transferring to were around the Pa area. If you are serious about medical school, you should consider Pitt. I don’t know too much about their undergrad premed program but their medical school is top 15 and rising. I would assume that a good medical school = good premed.

Pitts private I believe. But I want to know if those SAT subject test scores are worth sending

Lordy. Pitt is not private.

Oh okay then. Anyone want to answer my SAT subject test question now?

Yes…Those subject tests are worth sending…They can’t hurt you.

Okay I submitted them. Lets hope for the best

Just submitted my ACT score to Geneseo. I feel 3 rejections coming -_-

Hello Columbia09,

I created this account solely to respond to this post. Besides the fact that I think you have been incredibly rude to people who were trying to help answer a question that you have asked. I wanted to let you know that it is certainly not to late to get your transfer applications done. Some schools dont even require you to apply for next fall until you reach the end of this academic year. And someone else said that it doesnt matter where you do your undergrad once you get a professional degree. This is also correct. There is really no such thing as trading down. Go to a community college for a year and save money, no one is going to think badly of you. Save your father money. You may think I am being a bit aggressive in this email. But my situation is very similar to yours. My college offered me a FA package and then “messed up” and took away almost all of it…and I will also need to transfer next year because of lack of money, and I am already 45K in debt.

Have a good spring break, and enjoy the parade if you are staying!

If you havent picked up on it yet, I also go to The University of Scranton (for now)

I don’t mean to be rude but its obvious you didn’t read all the posts since I took their advice and as I result, I am transferring to a state school. If you don’t mind me asking, what year are you?

I am a Freshman

Crushing debt will seriously limit options going forward. My D applied to transfer after her 1st semester. It was a great decision for her. She spent 3 semesters at her CC & got a lot of credits that applied to the college she ended up attending and will be graduating from.

No one can offer any real help to anyone who really doesn’t want any. That is why folks have mostly stopped replying to this thread.

Oh cool. What major?

Political Science

Oh okay. I bet you know this one kid on my floor.

what is his name?

Just an FYI Keabie18…Scranton is not in the National Research Univesity category of the SUNY schools. It is ranked in the Regional Universities category with schools such as Villanova. It as a good rank of #10 in the north region. Also, most state schools have really large intro classes and have a very different vibe from a private school. It is an ongoing battle to afford the school of choice, especially for private schools.

As for the SUNY schools, ranks of 90, 111 and 138 is not bad for a National Research University. OTOH Cornell is 14th (Ivy) and Fordham is 53rd in this category. As you are planning to go on to Med school, your undergrad is not really important. Were you looking for a profession out of college, a name school would be an advantage

Buffalo is the closest thing SUNY has to a “Star” state school with full D1 sports and a medical school. This could be a really good option.

Ramray…you are a year late to this conversation!
