We are in the midst of looking for hotels for parents weekend.
There will be five of us: two parents, mother-in-law and 12 year old son.
We are thinking of two hotel rooms or a suite. Any "jewels" out there we should know about? Or a comparison of the usual hotels...

Thank you in advance! I have received incredibly helpful information on this site!

My husband stayed at the Bonaventure for move in day. He got a great deal on Priceline. However, parking was expensive at the Bonaventure and my husband did not want to look for less expensive parking elsewhere. If you are comfortable and have a rental car, I suggest trying 4 star hotel in downtown Los Angeles for the dates you want using Priceline. You can also stay at the Radisson hotel near USC which is very convenient and walking distance of campus.

the Omni hotel in downtown LA has a USC parents rate[ around $195] that is really low for a 4-5 star hotel, however those rooms are booked up far in advance by parents in the know. You have to talk to reservations as the rate is not available online.

If we were to try Priceline again, 4 star hotel downtown LA, I would put down $75. starting bid. From what I read, I think the odds are excellent that you will get a nice downtown hotel, 4 star, between $75.-100. a night. You can also see what hotwire.com has under 4 star hotel downtown LA. We have not been to the Omni and tripadvisor gives the Omni downtown a top rating. So maybe the Omni is worth the extra money if you get the USC rate.
