parents work for columbia

My dad works for columbia's hospital and they say that ill get a discount from tuition if i get accepted. But the thing is I don't think im quite on par with the rest of the applicants. Does having a parent that work for columbia give any sort of advantage?

well, first - do you want to go to columbia? have you thought about it at all?

re: advantage. my parents worked for another university and my mom was told that a student has to be a good fit for the university still (so not someone who would struggle) but it was to an extent a ‘hook.’ not a guarantee of admission, but something that would be taken into consideration when you apply.

Oh ok. Yeah I would love to go into columbia. I even visited and went on a tour twice because I live so close. I have taken a very rigorous schedule in high school but my grades are quite not on par with everyone’s else freshman and sophmore year.

thats ok. they like to see improvement over time. apply

phew thanks for posting this man
