It's not like I can secretly just pay for it by myself. Eventually, that idiot will force me to apply again and there will be a double application and I will cretainly get busted for that since there will two different set of essays. And yes and unfortunately, I do have an Asian dad. Dude, you should have seen his face when I tried to reason with him. All he wants to write are things that he thinks will be good for admission. And that recent Jian Li guy's compliant is really screwing things over big time.

it sounds like he's really interested in the process for you and wants you to go to a good school.

you could say that you refuse to even apply to any schools if he forces you to write an essay based on his essays. that'll shut him up...it could turn out bad if he goes with it and you don't end up applying anywhere, but somehow I doubt he'd be stubborn if you show that you're serious.

Apply first with your essays, and when he "forces" you to apply, tell him you already have and you can't apply twice.

And make sure that he doesn't know your passwords to apps, e-mails, etc. so he can't apply behind your back.

Get your GC involved.

Did your dad attend any of the fine institutions to which you are applying? Does he work in admissions? How does he know what they want to hear? They want to hear from YOU, not him. He's not aapplyinging. Maybe guidance can get that thru his head.

It sounds like he just wants you to get in really badly, but he's convinced his topics are the most likely to get you admitted. Perhaps Guidance can help him see this isn't true.

And by the way, what topics is it that YOU would like to write about? Are they completely off-the-wall? Is it possible that your dad might be a little bit correct?
