I'm part Kenyan. I REALLY think I fit UPenn's academic and overall aura. I am only 25% Kenyan, however. Should I apply as black?

Yes. Why not? Apply for black scholarships too, they help.

If your Kenyan heritage is not something you identify with very much or relevant to you day-to-day, then I wouldn’t apply as black. If it is, go for it; it just shouldn’t be a lever you pull solely for the presumed benefit in the admissions process.

Good luck!

It shouldn’t be something you use to your advantage, but I don’t blame you if you do. And this is coming from a 100% Asian. The world is a dark, manipulative place, do whatever gets you the edge, as long as your conscience can handle it.
