Part time job or community service?

My junior year is starting up, and I am torn on whether I should get a part time job (like fast food, retail, etc.) or if I should volunteer at a medical center. I’m not sure I would have the time to do both, but if anyone has any ideas on which colleges prefer, that would be great. (Right now I am looking into the pre med track for college, which is why Inwant to volunteer at a medical center.)

My preference would be a part-time job.
It shows schools that you are employable, with people skills, and that you will earn your own money to contribute to your education. It’s a valid EC.
Volunteering at a medical center is nice, but you won’t be doing vast research or working in the labs. More than likely: patient escort, gopher, etc.

There is no pre med track in college; you take some prereqs and major in anything you want. As for your summer activity, do what you want, not what you think a college will like.
