Party scene?

I currently go to University of Delaware where it's easy to find something to do on any given night...ie house party..What is the nightlife like at Georgetown? I might want to transfer out of UDel into GU, but im trying to get a feel for student life. Are the parties horrible? Are there any house parties? Thanks for any information a current student can give me. No, I'm not a party animal, but I'd hate to transfer into a school that has a completely horrible student party scene.

It's in the middle of Georgetown, you can do anything If you walk one block off the school youre on Wisconson which is basically nice restaurants and bars. There are plenty of parties on and off campus.

Wisconsin isn't one block off campus actually, it's more like an 8 minute walk from campus. I don't really know about the bar scene, because i don't have an id, but I do know the parties on campus. Lots of the townhouses in the area are student housing, so yes, there are lots of house parties. There are also lots of apartment parties, which i guess have fewer people, but are more likely to have jungle juice or other stuff besides beer. I think the party scene is pretty good here. It's not too out of control, but I've never had a problem finding something.
The one unfortunate thing is that because student have houses in the middle of a neighborhood with regular people, metro police can sometimes break up parties too early, but you get over it and find another party.

I like hearing that you've never had a hard time finding something...is that the case for the majority of you current students?

Yea im a freshamn here and the nightlife here is pretty awesome. Every weekend there is a party on cmapus or off. Most pre-game in their rooms before going out to the rooftops or to the townhouses to party. Im actually going out to a party at one of the off campus residences...cant wait. The only bad thing is that DOPS usually break up parties at 2am

jayson...do you all find one or two parties and flock to them, or are there many simultaneous parties happening? thanks a lot

There's plenty. You can leave one and walk to another one. Last night, I went to one party at midnight, but it was broken up by the DOPS officers around 1 am, but there was another party that started at 1:45 at one of the off-campus townhouses!
