I'm taking a class for fun that is NOT required by my major. I have the grading option as P/NP. Does it matter if I get a NP? In order to graduate I don't have to pass 100% of all classes taken right?

If you get NP you don’t get the credit for the class. If you don’t need the credits to graduate then it doesn’t matter, but if you do…it does.

alright cool. So people who fail a course in a major and then switch majors don’t have to repeat that course?

Does a D grade letter gives a P or NP? I looked up there policy and a D is considered barely passing. I’m not sure what it means.

D is a NP, C- is the cutoff

A “C” is the cutoff. A “C-” will give a NP.
