is the only way to show passion by writing about it in an essay or getting a teacher to comment on it in a rec?

do having awards, applying to their programs, or alluding to them in essays count?

do having awards, applying to their programs, or alluding to them in essays count?

in short, yes.

anything that indicates you spend a lot of time in something (and possibly anything that shows you have had success in something) would show passion. I'm pretty sure you're able to get an idea of how truly passionate an applicant is from the app.

...so writing an entire essay about your passions is NOT the ONLY way to covey passions, right?

^^
That is correct.

Saying you have a passion is one thing. Getting concrete and more objective proof behind that passion is another. Just about anyone can say that they are "heavily interested in _______" but if you say you're interested in this AND have these awards and EC's to back it up, it just makes it all the more believable and interesting

Passion is something that can't be missed, when it exists.

Will it be okay if I bring "experiences from childhood(about 8-9 yrs of age) that demonstrates my passion" in my personal essay??
