Hi all,

I recently got an e-mail saying that I had been nominated for the PAVE program at Vanderbilt University.

Is this a program worth applying to? Has anyone had any experience with it?

Please share your thoughts.

I got invited as well, but I didn't attend. 6 weeks is a LONG time to be that far from home (I live in California), and it just didn't interest me much. Not to mention I couldn't ever get a straight answer as to what it actually was. I attended a LeadAmerica program instead.

I got it too. Do a search on here, there is ALOT of info. I'm not going though. I'm going to Spain and exploring colleges this summer.

I just received an invite too, but I'm not sure about the academics there yet. And Tennessee...eh. I'm still looking into what a few other programs have to offer, especially the free ones.

My son applied to PAVE last year, got in, and absolutely loved it. Very well run, interesting and fun program. Came home sold on Vandy Engineering and is applying ED for next fall. Call them -- very friendly -- before you decide.

It sounds like a really nice program, but it costs way too much.

Okay, so, I'm not usually one to defend where I'm from, but Vandy is in its own little world within Nashville. Don't worry about the rednecks. They stay on the outskirts at the John Deere dealer.

And the PAVE program is really nice, as schrizto said, but it does cost a crapload. Beware of the preppies.
