Paying for Binghamton University

Hi all,

I was accepted to Binghamton University about a month ago and I am wondering if the school is worth the OOS tuition. I live in NJ. Also on a side note, I would not qualify for financial aid because of my visa, my parents would have to pay out of their own pockets.

Also, are students generally happy at Binghamton? Is the room and board tolerable?
....and does anyone know the exact OOS tutition as well?

Thank you!

This is the average SUNY tuition and expenses. The fees will vary slightly from school to school and because Binghamton is a University Center, the fees may be on the higher side. The room and board expenses will also vary depending on where you live on campus and what kind of meal plan you choose.

I think the price is great of OOS students. You get a great education at a price that can be cheaper than the in-state tuition at many schools. Rutgers, the NJ school that is comparable to Binghamton, is much more expensive for a similar education.

I’m happy here. Most people are definitely satisfied with their choice.

Who better to weigh in on this than Kiplinger. 2nd best value in the country for OOS.

Correction, #1 value for OOS in 2011

i live in CT and my choices were basically between Bing and UCONN, with UCONN obviously the better choice money wise since its cost was half of Bing. However, i decided on Bing mostly because of the better reputation and i felt that even the additional 10-15k was worth it, seeing as i could have chosen to go to other Universities in CT, most of which are 40k and up, eventhough they are ranked lower than Bing.
