Paying for UCLA Logistics, what is the easiest way?

I was just wondering if anybody has any suggestions as to the best way to pay my child's URSA bill. I noticed on paying for the housing deposit, in order to use a credit card, it now uses some "service" which charges a hefty fee and I was forced to use Amex or Mastercard as it didn't even accept Visa. This is all new to me -- since I paid for my other two kids with a CC without such nonsense... I suppose it has to do with the cost incurred by UCLA for accepting credit cards directly.

So what is the easiest and best way for me to pay the $30K per year (quarterly)? I wonder if it makes sense, once she starts living on campus, for me to just transfer money to her checking accnt and have her go into the administration office in person to make payments or ???

UCLA has moved away from VISA because supposedly Visa does not allow merchants to charge the ~2% fees per transaction. The fee was recently put into place about a year ago. Before that we would pay with credit cards (hey, we still can) but it’s just a bit more complicated now.

If your child has financial aid or some award, then the amounts awarded will automatically be deducted from URSA. I think it would be easiest for your child to have money in her checking account and pay using “eCheck” on URSA.
