Hi,
On the Vanderbilt website it says that fees, tuition, etc. are all due August 19, unless one pays through the Vandy Plan. However, my financial aid (which is going to cover most of the costs) from Vanderbilt isn’t set to disburse until the 26th. Does this mean that I basically have to pay for Vanderbilt with the monthly Vandy Plan?
Thanks
Your bill will include the financial aid (grants and scholarships) so it will be deducted from the amount due. If you have work study, I don’t think that will be deducted so you may need to do the Vandy Plan if you can’t cover the bill after the grant money.
Work study is not deducted because it is an opportunity rather than a promise … that is, if you are able to secure a work study job you are allowed to earn up to the award amount. You might not. It is earn-as-you-go, so it is the one piece of the financial aid package that will not be (and cannot be) deducted from the charges on the bill.
The rest of the aid will be deducted (one-half per semester). You’ll need to pay the remainder of your semester charges by the 19th.
Speaking of FA, how can I view my final dues? I am on student accounts and I have a “Due now” and “Total due” and “pending financial Aid” what actually says how much I have to pay
@Axelarate If you look under your billing portal, click “Click here to view Recent Activity” you will see an estimate of what you owe. Bills have not been posted just yet.
Our bill is online now. If you go to the Billing Portal, click on “Click here to view Recent Activity” then scroll to the bottom. If your bill is available, you’ll see Fall 2015 charges at the end. At the bottom of the page it has a summary of Current Balance, Anticipated Credits (this is where financial aid for fall semester is deducted), and Remaining Balance which is the amount due. They will usually send an email out to notify students/parents that bills are available. I haven’t gotten that notification yet–I just checked it now for the heck of it.
