Hi I'm sorry if this question has been asked a bunch, but I'll be an incoming freshman this year. I'm in the market for my first laptop. For current students and alums- Is Vandy more PC or Mac friendly?

Both, I have a PC though as only hippies use MACs, and nobody likes a hippie.

hahahaha
'tis true. The way of the Mac is for the hippie.
The way of the PC is for the wise.

hehehe

Go with whatever you like best. There are plenty of Mac users on campus, and Vandy has been installing new Macs in common areas. There are also plenty of PCs. My advice, whichever you choose, would be to get something that isn't too heavy to carry around.

i second silversparkles rec. GO FOR SOMETHING LIGHT THAT YOU CAN CARRY TO CLASS/GROUP PROJECTS ETC IF NEEDED... whether that's a mac or pc, whatever works for you.

i agree with above, but i think that macs are much more popular, until you get into featheringill (engineering building). then you'll get a lot of dell latitudes ( which are good). just don't get vista :(

Uh oh see now I realize I made a mistake...my dad bought me a fancy PC ~2000 bucks and its pretty sick, but its got a 17 inch screen and weighs a ton.

lol you don't usually need to carry it around and we have computer labs
so it's all good :) you could return it for a lighter one but if you like it i say keep it as a space-saving desktop for the dorms

I use a mac...and I am NO hippie. LOL. Whatever you like the best is what I would suggest.

look up the new Lenovo Ideapad. In my opinion, it's ten times better than a mac laptop...it looks cool, has more memory, and is better for entertainment.
Macs are for chicks who don't have any idea what to get anyways

HAHAHA Dardardelight. I am NO chic and I certainly know what I want in a notebook...but the Ideapad is really cool. I have just fallen completely out of sorts with Microsoft. I hate the operating system and the way it works in computers since it is not made specifically for any certain configuration or any certain computer's components/hardware. That's why I went with Mac LOL!

I used to be a PC user...but I got a mac last week. I love it :D
choose a computer that you like. I just really hate vista.

Vista is horrid.

D (no hippie) uses a Mac. I know I'm old, but I have Vista ... no problems with it. Maybe I'm just talented. :)

Yes, 100% talented kelsmom LOL.
