Hey guys, I just got into PE for fall 2014. I've already attended orientation and picked out my classes and enrolled in them, but I'm not sure if I should take 14hrs or 17hrs this semester. I don't have any 1 hour classes (other than labs) on my degree plan that I need. If someone could please help me out regarding this, I'd greatly appreciate it. Here are the classes I'm enrolled in: CHE 301(3), PHY 303K(3), PHY 103M(1), M427K(4), PGE 333T(3), UGS 302(3). If I do have to take 14, I'm thinking about dropping UGS cause I need the rest to be done this semester. Thanks in advance!

If you decide to drop the UGS course, look into the “general engineering” courses (I believe there is a course offered called GE 207K which is a supplemental class for M 427K and a guaranteed A if you show up - however, these classes are not counted toward your degree.) I think there are also GE courses offered for physics and chemistry as well, but I’m not sure. A PE class is always fun/easy and a good way to meet people outside of your major.

@want2engr , thanks for replying! I do know about the GE courses and that they don’t count towards my major, but I’m just trying to decide if I should take 14hrs of 17hrs this semester. I don’t want to take courses that won’t end up being counted for my major. Hope my query made sense. Thanks again for the info though!
