Peer Recommendation

My friend asked me to write her a peer recommendation for Connecticut College....can someone give me some tips for writing this? She is one of my best friends so I don't think it will be hard but I really want to do a good job on this!

Write some specific stories of memorable things that happened and what that taught you about her... Don't write a generic rec (those are all I got)

also, think about writing what she has taught you. What effect has your relationship and her personal character had on you?

And obviously don't include anything potentially incriminating (i.e., no beer pong exploits, and no other hints of any questionable character).

You may want to ask a teacher who did her teacher rec about good format/style for writing recommendations, if you feel like you need to.

best of hopes! it's so nice to see how concerned you are about this.

My bff wrote me a peer rec for the school I am attending and she focused on how I influenced her. She even mentioned that she was sure that my teachers already talked about how dedicated, enthusiastic, etc. I am, but wanted to focus on my personal characteristics. She talked about my loyalty and how I never gave up on her during her hardest moments. Was there any time where she was there for you when you really needed someone? If so, talk about that. Or talk about silly things that you do. Basically, you should write about why she is your best friend. Anything that makes her a good friend is probably good to mention. If all you share are stories about getting drunk then you two probably aren't very good friends to begin with and you should not do the letter (it won't help her).
