Pell - efc 2009-2010

It looks like the PELL grants will be raised to $5250 per year for an EFC of 0 for 2009-2010. Last year's max grant was $4731 and the max EFC to be PELL eligible was 4042 I think.

With an increase of over $500 per year on the grant, would everyone expect a similar increase in the max EFC to be eligble. PELL eligibility opens the door to a lot of other things besides the PELL grant, and right now we are on the fence. Thoughts?

Max last year was 4041. The year before it was 4110. I remember one poor CC kid being devastated because the decrease in the maximum made him not eligible for the Gates Millenium scholarship that he would have been eligible for based on the previous years cut off.

Who knows how they come up with these decisions. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Am I reading this correctly? With an EFC of $4617, did I miss the Pell cutoff by $117!?
