If one has a efc 0 are you more than likely to get the pell grant and work study? If so is work study and pell grant the same at all schools?
Also, can anyone provide me information about the Iowa Advantage Award?

If your EFC is 0 you will get the full pell grant. You will also qualify for work study, but that doesn’t mean you will get it. It depends on the school. The school I am transferring to I was offered work study, but the school I was at before had a waiting list and even though I was already working on campus I never managed to get off the waiting list.

Pell grant s/b the same at all schools (assuming you are full time enrollment).

WS will vary from school to school. WS funds are very limited and a school may not have enough to give to every student with need (unlike the Pell where you get what your EFC makes you eligible for). So each school sets their ow criteria. Some schools do ot offer it at all (my son’s school does not). Others will have different criteria and maximums. My daughter’s school the max is $3400. She was offered the max WS her first 2 years. This year she got the SMART grant which, along with her scholarships and the Pell and a state grant, brought her need down to under $1000. She was not offered WS this year at all but was offered a small loan.

Oh I see, thanks.
