I filled the FAFSA and listed UF (the university I am attending) as the recipient. A while later, I got a letter from FAFSA including my SARS and the UF page had me getting a "predicted" Pell Grant. My question is, is there any way to know whether one is getting a Pell Grant or not, and the amount of it? I've got UF's prediction, yes, but something else would be more reassuring...

Pell grant is based on more than just the information submitted on the FAFSA, which is why it will not tell you how much you are eligible to receive. To determine your actual eligibility, the school will take into consideration your course loan (full-time, three-quarter time, etc) and the cost of tuition. Then they will use your EFC from the FAFSA and the Pell Grant chart to determine how much you can actually receive. Typically, this is conveyed to the student through the award letter from the institution.
