At the beginning of the fall semester I was awarded the full amount for the year. I just recieved an email stating that my spring award is reduced due to being near the limit, however, I checked my lifetime limit and I have only used 337.515%. Can anyone enlighten me to why it is being reduced? Please and thank you.
Are you at a community college?
How many credits are you taking- full course load?
And call and talk to your FA office, before Christmas break
There is no mathematical way you can reach your lifetime usage this year, if NSLDS currently says you have used 337.515%. That means that you may have received the notification in error. Of course, you want to make sure you follow up with the school. It’s true that Pell is reduced if you are not full time, but any communication about Pell being reduced for that reason should not mention lifetime usage (unless it says, “It could be due to …” and that is one of the options, among others such as reduced course load).
