Hello, I received a pell grant for fall and summer, which I accepted. My pending financial aid for Fall was less than my outstanding balance, so I had to pay the difference ($250).
After making the payment, I notice that my financial aid vanished. It disappeared, and it’s not showing on pending aid. I tried contacting my school’s aid office, and they have so many calls that they are not taking them any more. So I tried the chat, but it’s closed for a month. Then posts on forums and blogs, but I couldn’t receive an answer yet to why my aid disappeared after paying the difference of the “total due” (difference between pending aid, and outstanding balance)
Maybe there was a problem on the system? I needn’t have to pay the due difference?
*(Today, 8/29, is the last day to make a payment without a late fee)
Thank you in advance!
Did you check your bursar account? You said you paid the balance due…$250. Look at your bursars account…and see if you owe any money.
What financial aid “disappeared”?
Both Pell Grants for Fall and Summer.
Do you have an unpaid balance right now on your bursars account?
Was your 2017-2018 fafsa selected for verification?
Are you registered for a full time class load? Did you pass all your summer classes?
Yes, It appears that I have to pay the amount that was originally covered by the Pell grant.
I don’t know if it was selected for verification, what influence would that have?
@blossom I’m currently registered for 3 classes. It’s my first semester
UPDATE: My financial aid reappeared (On Finances>Account Inquiry>Summary). It looks like It was modified; it increased. Anyways, the lack of communication between the student and the college is what makes this whole process stressful and frustrating.
Thanks everyone
Yay! Sorry for your angst but good news in the end-
