Penn 2017 ED Discussion Thread

^Nahh… this is my homepage: [Countdown to Dec 12, 2012 6:00 PM in Philadelphia](<a href=“Countdown to Dec 12, 2012 6:00 pm in Philadelphia”>Countdown to Dec 12, 2012 6:00 pm in Philadelphia)

.__.

I like to think of it as a testament to our enthusiasm for D-Day…

Enthusiasm. Riiiiiiight :stuck_out_tongue:
More like desperation to get it over with!

Has anyone else made weird promises to themselves? I’ve vowed to not go on Facebook until the results come out (which is partly the reason I’m here socializing with you folks) :-)

Whether or not I get in, I’m going to start going to bed around 10pm every night… I’ve been so worried I can’t even fall asleep :/

I gave my Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr passwords to my best friend. She’s keeping it until I’m done with the college-app process (either Dec 12 or January 1, I suppose…)

^Make sure he/she doesn’t frape you LOL.

(Y)

10chars

is it weird that i’m seriously considering waiting for the letter in the mail? that’s always how i imagined finding out haha

Not weird, but wouldn’t you like to find out sooner?

i don’t know i might wait until friday just so everyone doesn’t bombard me thursday haha we’ll see but for now assuming the worst, hoping for the best

FYI (directed at nobody in particular), paper rejection letters are no longer sent to rejected applicants who check their decisions online:

[MIT, Penn, and Yale Get Rid of Paper Rejection Letters - Wired Campus - The Chronicle of Higher Education](Wired Campus: MIT, Penn, and Yale Get Rid of Paper Rejection Letters)

Hey, does anyone know what the rejection letter might look like?.. Not to be pessimistic or anything… but I feel that I should be braced for the worst…= =

Does it matter? We’ll see it if and when it comes. Keep your head up buddy

Don’t think about the rejection letter, what’s done is done now. Just hope for the best.

Good point. We’ll only bog ourselves down by thinking about rejection before decisions are handed out.

4 days and 7 hours to go!!

Hang in tight… there is light at the end of the tunnel:). I am an RD guy anyway…

IIRC, the rejection letter basically begins with “I’m sorry to tell/inform you…”

Hey are you guys up for doing something like this? Found it on the Harvard forum:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/harvard-university/1411210-official-harvard-scea-2017-pledge-thread.html</a></p>

That’s a great idea manutd1234. why don’t you create one?

Dean Furda’s tweet today: “What would Ben do? Making the final decisions on the Early Decision class.”

Decisions are finalized today! So nervous …

^What are “final decisions”? Do they accept/reject applicants, then go back to finalize once again?

This is nerve wracking but exciting at the same time… #WWBD?

Hold on, so we’re scheduled to receive our decisions (I guess only in the case of acceptance) by snail-mail on Friday, December 15th? Can anyone confirm
