Penn Applicants: If not admitted, where would you go?

Hello everyone!

Well, just like everyone here, I would like to go to Penn. But I was wondering, if you are not admitted, which other school would you like to go to?

In my case, if I’m not admitted into Penn, I would love to go to the University of Michigan. It pretty much has everything. And it’s undergraduate business program (@ Ross) is also awesome.

Well, how about you guys?

Swarthmore maybe? or maybe not..i heard it was as lonely as Long Island...

U of M is a great school and is a nice alternative to Penn. Ross is an amazing business school that easily competes with Wharton. And, I'm from Ann Arbor and can tell you personally that the students at U of M are a great mix of kids, and the ones I know all seem to love Ann Arbor and the University. The campuses also seem very similar in feel although not in size. Plus, U of M is definitely easier to get in to.

As for me, if I don't get in to Penn I'm hoping to get accepted regular admission at either Cornell or Northwestern with Michigan as a Match/Safety school.

NYU (if it's at least somewhat affordable)
Northwestern
Michigan
Columbia

probably cornell. if i can get in.

cornell isn't that hard if you apply ED

GWU or BU, assuming I can at least get into one of those.

Rochester, Stony Brook, Cornell (maybe?)
If I don't get into Penn, probably gonna end up at Stony Brook so I can stay with my mommy and daddy.

im applying to penn ed, and cornell regular. idk if i'll be able to get into cornell regular.

im applying penn ed. if not my choices are:

maryland
cornell
georgetown
wash u in stl
delaware
penn state

I am praying i get into penn tho!!

Most people would agree that Columbia (and Swarth) is much more difficult to get into than Penn. Although with admissions, you never know...

Wow. I think I notice a trend. The majority of Penn applicants also really seem to like Cornell, Northwestern, and U of M.

Not bad, I say.

My 2nd and 3rd choices are Georgetown and Cornell, respectively.

haha this is so weird, U of M and Northwestern are definitely like my next two choices...

lol we all think alike

cornell and northwestern are also my two probable next choices ( if i get in)

definitely cornell or U of M

im doing early action to Notre Dame and Boston College in addition to ED at Penn. Hopefully, if Penn doesn't work, one of the other two will. ND's undergrad business school ranks #3, with Wharton at #1.

^ Isnt taht not allowed. Cant you only do BC and ND EA if you have no ED/SCEA schools? Just what I heard somewhere....

To everyone wanting to go to Cornell if Penn says no,

Are you only interested in the Cornell AEM (Applied Economica and Management) major in the College of Agriculture? My daughter was admitted into the college, although her major was engineering, and we learned that AEM only took 96 freshman students. Transferring into the major is very, very competitive, and the major requires 18 credits of math and science. Those were some of the reasons my D decided against attending Cornell. Be cautious when considering the AEM program at Cornell, if that's your plan.

Emory, Northwestern, Wash. U, Florida (for free!)
