*Penn Class of 2020 Early Decision Discussion*

Hi how long does penn take to send you the confirmation email after you submit your app?

I got mine the next day, less than 24 hours

Same as @VaishS

Just submitted by ED app to Wharton. How long for a confirmation and access to Penn Applicant Portal.

24 hours @Dilan412

I just got offered in interview, it took about 10-12 days in case anyone was worried about it. I got a virtual interview with a LSM grad

@VaishS Can I ask (no need for specifics) your general region? US (Northeast, Midwest, South, Pacific NW, etc) or International?

Would anyone recommend submitting a film supplement, even though it hasn’t won any national/international awards? I know that Stanford and Yale are really stringent on only considering supplements that have “unusual talent,” but none of that is explicitly stated by Penn’s website.

Just got an email saying that I should be contacted by an interviewer soon. 3 days after I submitted my Common App

It takes them a while to actually contact you. @TheWaffleMan149 I submitted my application on October 13, and I got that email you did a few weeks later, and I still haven’t been contacted for an interview. My guess is that they will probably start doing it within the next few days because the deadline is tonight. Living in a heavily populated area may mean that it takes more time. I live right outside of Boston, so I’m not surprised honestly that I haven’t been offered one yet. The best way to check is to see if anyone else in your school has applied to Penn and if they have been offered an interview. Remember it could still be another 3-4 weeks or so before you may be contacted, so don’t start worrying yet.

Yeah that makes sense. I’m not concerned about the time; I am expecting it to take some time. Unfortunately, I can’t check with the rest of my school because I haven’t told anyone I’m applying there. If I am deferred or rejected, the last thing I will want is 50 people asking me if I got in or not.

Presumably, it depends on your location and alumni availability. Not sure where VaishS might be located, though.

Well he can confirm, but according to his chance thread he’s from Ohio, so that might explain it.

Yup I’m from Ohio  (im a girl tho :P) @ComputerAge @jarrett211 @shivaya

@bettyxyp88 I think you should, it would give them more info about you
I sent in the abstract for my research paper even though it hasn’t been published yet

@VaishS Lol my bad.

Just finished my interview today!!! I got an offer for an interview the very next day after submitting my application. The interview went very well and lasted about an hour and a half. The interviewer asked me why I wanted to go to Wharton, and the conversation went on to various topics about current events from then on! I’m in Los Angeles btw.

I submitted my application on the 16th btw.

That’s fantastic. Good luck to everyone. Keep the good information/experience flowing for the benefit of all.

@toffys Thats awesome! Did you get any super weird questions that threw you for a loop?
