Penn College Houses and Residential Programs

Hey guys. I have several questions regarding college housing.

Can I apply for Film Culture Program at Gregory College house even if I want to live in different college house?

What is your general opinion about Gregory? I know it’s small and a little bit far from everything. I think I want more fun college house with many people

How much do College Houses affect my experience at Penn? Do they play a big role?

I’m pretty sure you have to live in Gregory to take part in the program.

That said, I think most it not all of the dorms have some sort of movie collection that you can use if you want to watch movies. There’s also the Penn Video Network for students that lets students watch a bunch of movies and then you can get or borrow a friend’s Netflix, HBOGO, etc. to watch other movies.

I don’t know a ton about Gregory. I’ve never been there and haven’t heard a ton about it from kids on campus. You’re right that’s a bit far from everything.

The College House experience is different from person to person. For some people, your college house is nothing but a place to sleep, but for other students, the college house’s programming defines what they will be doing for a particular day and is the source of many friendships and fun experiences. Then for others - probably most residents - there’s a middle ground where they’ll attend some house events but do many other things that keep them busy.
