I have heard a lot of different things about the programs. I've heard two people say that they don't do anything but one person said that there are certain ones that actually do stuff. Anybody want to tell me which programs actually do stuff? Is applying to one of these programs worth the time to write the essay?

I feel like it really depends on the mix of people you get each year. I know of people in residential programs in the Quad that don’t do anything, but I know the arts ones do a couple things. FreshEx has a few activities but since it doesn’t really have a theme, they don’t really do much.

Basically, a residential program is worth it if you’d like to live surrounded by that kind of people. Because whether you end up actually doing things for your program or not, you’ll at least have one thing in common with everyone in your hall.
