Hook: First Gen college student

my threads on chances never get replied to.

your scores are what hurt you. Dang standardized tests...your SAT is okay, but the SAT 2s are really just average. same with APs. But your ECs seem good, especially with the job experience. But I doubt you have a good chance at Penn because of those scores. But it certainly doesn't hurt to apply! Good luck.

^ I had almost identical stats, and got rejected to CAS ED. You've got better EC's though, so it's def. worth a shot.

bumped. getting ready to send off the app.....

try to emphasize on your ECs. your SAT II scores are weak - you should try to re-write in january.

I believe you have a decent shot, any young woman who has held a job since before her freshman year shows initiative. You might want to raise your scores, but i wouldn't worry about it too much. And from a fellow HOBY alum, best of luck dear.

bump, version 2.0

also curious about my chances @ Wake Forest. if anyones feeling generous. which judging by post count in this thread. they arent.

bumped for fun.

You should get into Wake.. I think Penn is a slight reach but not much more than that, you have good ECs and Penn cares about personality :)

Excuse me, are we talking about Penn State or UPenn here? If it's U Maryland, American U, and Penn State, it is highly likely you will get into all three. If Penn is University of Pennsylvania, well, it's unlikely you'd get into University of Pennsylvania.

She's talking about UPenn

I'm already in at Penn state.

I'm talking about Penn. Yikes, I didn't think my hopes were that deluded that someone had to clarify if I meant Penn State.

amptron is infamously harsh, don't worry ;)

You got in ED, right?

So your opinion holds quite a bit of weight to me.

yea, I got in ED to SEAS :)

I have an interview with a Penn alum tomorrow :)

ECKIE NOOOOO...

hell ill probably do a chances thread eventually.

You are not borderline for Penn as you said. You are a reach with your scores and even relatively low GPA.

I agree, fall in love with another school. Penn is a real reach.
