whats mun..

plus.. the nov 15 deadline was only what penn stated.. she told me that historically.. interviewers have never met that deadline

MUN is Model United Nations

seifo, are u goin to Germany?

well my conference is the weekend and its WMHSMUN. William & Mary High School Model United Nations. its down in virigina. 6 hour bus ride to make final preparations!. well actally 26e, my school usually goes to ILMUNC(Upenn Mun), and i went last year too. im thinking of goign this year too!

njchino, i wish i could go to Germany. i love watching soccer(dont follow leagues much tho, jsut watch a match when i can), but heh, i dont think i have enough money. and if i did, my parents proabably would just want me to stay up late, lose sleep and watch the matches live instead.

yeah...i wish i could go to germany. i'll settle just to see some footy on TV. what's the name of your school, seifo? i decided to ask not to go to ILMUNC, b/c they'll prob assign delegations before the 14th, and i dont wanna go if i dont get in

I'm writing an essay. Is it grammatically incorrect for me to start of a 'sentence' with just a list of things? For example, "Blue, black, grey, and red." I'm pretty sure that's grammatically incorrect, but am I allowed to do it on a college essay anyway? It's kind of my "hook sentence" to get the reader's attention, but I don't want it to seem like sloppiness either!

i go to John P. Stevens High School. look under my name for town. haha, im with you, i dont really want to go if i dont get in to Penn. luckily my school doesnt do assigments early like yours. also, the conference can be kinda hardcore at soem points, and im getting senioritis. how can they give assignments so early tho, the conference isnt until the end of january....

be yourself in your essay. think about how some novelists write their first sentence...with one word that isnt even a verb....so your list should be fine.

yeeuuuuh, seifo, I used to live really close to you in Highland Park.

Anyone got asked current events in their interview..or like their favorite book or stuff like that

they do that at tufts interviews ive heard.. but none that ive heard of for penn..

leaving for my interview in 15 minutes..

that was kind of enjoyable.. actually..

it lasted about 50 minutes and we talked a lot about housing / penn football.. and the usual questions..

why penn

where do you see yourself in 15 years

and what are your hobbies / ECs.. thats it

Just got back from my interview...went really well i think..nice old man

What kind of Qs did you get?

It started off with like how long have I lived in Mt Laurel (my town) and stupid stuff like that...then he dropped the why upenn..and then it was all really casual from there. Just conversation about what I like to do, and his life and stuff. The only question he asked that made me nervous was "Are you interested in politics." In my head I'm thinking like..no. I'm saying like..uhhhhh. haha. I ended up saying I follow it when election time comes around and when it's important but I don't get to into it. He asked me what I thought of the gubernatorial (spelling?) election that just passed..and I had no idea anything about it. I was like I've been so busy lately I didn't follow it at all...whatever. All in all it was good cause he said he would have no problem writing me a reccommedation. Said it in a very positive manner. YAY :)

lishnik21, my cousins (actually his parents/my aunt & uncle) live in Mt. Laurel, NJ. It's about 30 minutes away from my house. Small world!

Wow..i guess i never looked at your location and realized you were right here in philly haha...we are neiighbors..small world indeed..thats refreshing

just got a call

my interviewer never even asked "why penn," so i kept trying tack on "this is why i want to go to penn" on the end of every answer to other questions. lol
