I have my Penn interview on Sunday and I was wondering for those who have had interviews, what should I expect? or does it differ based on the interviewer?

I am an international applicant and just submitted my app right before the deadline. Has anyone who submitted last minute and has received interview calls?

^Is there even a possibility of an interview as an international student? I would love one, but I’m not counting on it.

Of course! There’s an Penn alumni association for my city.

Yup, same for Mexico City. According to their website, they do interviews to prospective students, so hopefully I’ll get one!

lucya01995, it definitely differs from interviewer to interviewer. Be prepared for the obvious why penn. Other questions I remember from my interview last year was what my parents’careers were, how others would describe me, my extracurricular activities.

I do not have alumni near me, so I am getting a Skype interview.

^when did you submit your app?

I think like December 30? Not sure, but a few days before the deadline.

I submitted my app a few days before the deadline, and just had my interview for Penn last week. My interviewer was very friendly and conducted the interview as a casual, easygoing conversation. She really put me at ease and I learned a lot of great things about life at Penn from her.

I have pretty bad scores and I’m not too confident about my application as a whole… would my interviewer have a bad preconception of me? the email was very simple, short and didn’t even mention my interviewer’s name. I think he got his secretary to write up the email or something…
Well, just so I know, how long does the interview usually last; and any general advice on preparing?

Thanks!

@ gal179: Your interviewer does not have your scores or anything else besides your contact info.
