At what point do you think Penn will stop asking for interviews?

I know it's only November 15th, so I could still get an alum interview... but do you think at a certain point we can kind of conclude that we WON'T be getting an interview if we haven't been contacted?

I'm just thinking because it could take up to a week or more to find a time/place that works for the interviewer and interviewee, and then the interview has to send the info that they record to Penn and I assume that can take a week or more. Plus, it would be hard to get that info so close to the December 11th notification date, you know? I mean, I don't know if they would really be able to consider info sent to them on the 10th or anything.

Do you think they will still be contacting applicants for interviews in late November/early December? Could we still get a RD interview if we are deferred ED and we never got a ED interview?

Well, i read somewhere (can not recall…i think penn website) that interviews are over december 1st…So assuming they give you a few days “heads up” about a possible interview, im thinking the 25th or so around there or 26th will be the last day (where you find out about the interview via email).

Just a speculation.

Thanks for that piece of info! :)

You are right, by the way. I just looked on the website and ED interviews are conducted between Nov. 1 and Dec. 1.

Yep haha that was the page, just couldn’t recall exactly.

Glad to have helped :]

november 22

My interviewer was saying that he has to get his comments in by Thanksgiving–maybe that’s just his personal goal?

my interviewer explicitly told me that she had to get interviews done and recs sent by thanksgiving.

Okay, thanks! So pretty much if I am not contacted by this coming weekend, I can assume I am not getting an interview because there wouldn’t be enough time to set up an interview before Thanksgiving?

^That’s what it seems like. Most people seem to be notified a week in advance or so…

So pretty much by this Thursday then…

I would give it until saturday or so…

Okay, cool. Thanks!

my interviewer contacted me this noon and asked if i was all right with interview tomorrow at 7pm (omg) - seeing how i literally have 24 hours to prepare for an interview I was almost sure I wasn’t getting, any tips or advices? thanks!

Relax. Have confidence in yourself. Keep things like “What sets you apart?” and “What are you most proud of?” in your head.

Ask questions. Take compliments. Don’t brag. Eye contact. SMILE!

Oh, man! Where do you live?

That literally sounds like a nightmare to me! Damnn…

Good luck! I’m sure you’ll do fine, just try to be relaxed and smile. I think your body language and personality say just as much, and probably more, than what actually comes out of your mouth. Try to pump yourself up. Be confident, but not cocky, and this of some questions to ask when the alum asks you “do you have any questions?”

Best of luck! I’m sure you’ll be fine… but AHHH I really hope if I get an interview I’m given more notice than 24 hours.

OMG me too hobeyho! I get home pretty late so I JUST checked my email. They also want an interview at 7 pm tomorrow O_____O. I don’t even know what to do. Haven’t prepared much and I have 3 tests tomorrow. orz

@shizzle- thanks for the advice! haha I should think about those things

@underdog- toronto, so i was expecting one, but since they didn’t contact me for so long i pretty much just thought i was flat out rejected…
I really hope you do get one but don’t get one in such a short notice! when i saw the e-mail i was like ***?!?!
btw thanks 4 replying!

ROFL (although i’m rly not in a position 2 b laughing) they really decided 2 kill some of us!
good luck to everyone waiting for an interview (and looking at the penn ED list from last year, literally half of ppl didn’t get an interview and got in so don’t worry!) and 2 those who have interview tomr n learned about it 2day!

What are you doing to prepare? And what area do you live in? > < I’m kind of freaking out right now

Well I looked into the inverviewer as much as possible, pretty much became his stalker for a day lol, and as shizzle and underdog said, review myself (like rereading essays n stuff) and do some research on upenn n stuff. Although I’m freaking out myself, you should be fine if you relax and be confident
I live in toronto, canada… you?
