Penn LSM Class of 2022 ED

Just submitted my app. Anyone else applying ED? I heard they only take 9 or 10 people early. rip us and gl everyone

@crsd36 the program has only 25 slots, and their yield is around 85%+ so they usually admit about 30 kids in total. About 10-15 ED admits sounds about right.
Good luck!

Do you guys know how many apply to LSM every year?

@Greasy Acceptance rates have been rumored to be around 4-5% but there is not official source for this info. You can be sure however that LSM is insanely competitive to get in, think Harvard or Stanford levels. A lot of the LSM admits typically have one or more HYPSM acceptances.

@crsd36, no matter how you have the impressive profile, nobody can predict the possibility being admitted to Penn LSM, which is a fantastic program for talented and ambitious young people who cannot complain that they are not challenged in there. Wish you the best but might actively prepare for RD: There is a similar program in UCB (and probably Stanford).

@Penn95 @J2H239 Thanks for the info guys. I doubt I’ll be able to overcome those odds. My “profile” is pretty sweet and definitely unique, but I put the college as my backup so at this point I’m just hoping to get into Penn. I only applied to LSM bc you never know, right? I was already applying so might as well give it my all and write another essay. However it really would be an incredible experience should this work out.

Does anyone know if being interviewed by an LSM graduate mean they are actually considering me for the program? I don’t want to get my hopes up if it doesn’t.

Do not read too much into it. The interviews are conducted by local alumni network. It has nothing to do with the chance of your acceptance.

@Greasy I agree it doesn’t really matter. Ideally they will try to pair you up with an LSM alum but there are rather few of them.
