Penn parties: What are they really like?

Penn is an ivy tho, and it’s a good school with good students

do ppl drink there and like, do stupid stuff, or do they have video game parties or math parties? what is a “party” like at penn (how big, what to do, where, how long, etc.etc.)

I don't go yet, but I imagine theres parties of all kinds.

math parties? is that a joke? seriously *** is a math party. Parties at penn = kegs +beer = awesome. A.k.a. by transitive property penn=awesome. No seriously -most parties are at frat houses either on campus or off (you need to know someonw to get in normally) or in the high rises. That is all.

are the girls there hot?

are you serious dude?

i mean it varies. there are some hot chicks and some busted ones. It's not like UNC or anything but it def. beats Harvard

no kegs on campus

No kegs at on campus registered.. and if it is registered, you need something that looks like a 21 ID and you're fine, and usually get better beer because it's in cans, and not a flat keg.

Off campus (or on campus, non-registered) will have kegs, and usually some sort of drink concoction, which you can never be sure what is in it.. but if you see brothers pour a drink from the same thing they poured yours from and drink it, you'll be fine.

there are kegs at all the fraternaties

spring fling parties were crazy, but normally i hear they're a bit more lame

half the campus was "shi tarded" as the t-shirts said :)

not all parties are as crazy as fling parties, but there are certainly good ones every week.. i'm personally kind of bored of the frat scene, so my friends and I usually just chill in our rooms and drink, playing cards and even beer pong (yes, we managed to set up a beer pong table in hill...)

In the immortal words of my mother- don't drink anything that was mixed in a garbage can.

"there are kegs at all the fraternaties"

Not true. Some fraternities have parties only with really nice alcohol (i.e no bankers club).

before i cam to campus, i expected the parties to be pretty boring and more of "drunk mingleing." I got to campus saturday night around 11 PM as a visiting "pre frosh" or w/e as everyone called me 9 i came to check out penn previews and the BFS thing). I got out of the room i was staying at in the quad by 12 and met some random, but hot, girls within about 3 minutes and they showed me like 3 frat parties on spruce(on my way out though i did see a nintendo party so if you are in to that kind of thing you will have a niche). honestly, the party i went to was about an 8-9 on a scale of 1 to 10...band in the back, little mosh pit goin, hot-social girls everywhere, dancing, about 5-6 kegs of the good stuff just that i saw and they were extremely generous about giving it out. from what i have seen, the party seen on campus is great and the parties seem to be open to whoever wants to come but at the same time, there are many people on campus that seem to be oblivious to what is going on in terms of partying. if you are open to new things, i am sure you can find a great party. also, i was surprised because people didnt seem stuck up or rude, they were just open and having a good time.

on a related note, in is monday night on campus and it seems ike everyone is back to business and i am bored out of mind sitting in stouffer (which seems to be a very unsocial dorm compard to the quad).

a little bit about it being monday night.. normally there are things to do on a monday night, but this is the monday after fling.. everyone is either still hung over or catching up on all the work they put off this weekend (especially since it's the last week of class and a ton of projects/presentations are due).. or some combination of both :-D

I'm just going to add that Penn, overall, does pretty well in attracting attractive females.
