PSU Abington is a way more affordable option but I feel as though I wouldn’t get the same opportunities as a business major as I would at Temple. I feel like at Temple I would be able to meet so many more people and be able to pursue many more paid internships, have newer buildings/technology, live in the city, etc… But when it comes down to the price, is it really worth it for my dream school, Temple? There is a high chance I would transfer to Temple after saving up at Abington for a year or two, but again, is it more worth it to just go to Temple in the first place?
im in a similar boat! torn between PSU and temple…but honestly im leaning towards temple! its a better location in my opinion, the people seem nice, and the city is worth the money in my opinion. also from this post, i can tell your heart is with temple. go wherever you’re happiest! I wish you luck.
Wouldn’t you have some less expensive in-state public options?
@hollyrose123 ended up going with temple! Couldn’t pass it up.
@2019earlygrad you made the right choice! The best way to save money at Temple is to attend Community College of Philadelphia first as a dually enrolled student at Temple (making sure your business major transfers, of course). But Temple Main over PSU Abington is far and away worth it - can you even transfer all your credits from PSU to Temple? Think about CCP. If you start there in your major or in gen ed, you will still feel like you are starting with your peer cohort since so many people transfer to Temple. CCP has a lot going on and is right down the road from Temple, in a vibrant part of the city near downtown. PSU-Abington is a tiny commuter campus. It’s beautiful with the hills but dead, dead, dead.
I’m visiting Temple tomorrow and am most likely going there too! What college did you get into specifically? I’m going to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences with a major in Poli Sci. go class of 2023!
