I was not accepted into University Park. But a letter has been sent. I want to know which are the campuses in Penn State can you do chemical engineering? I am asking this question because the admission office told me that I could do engineering the first 2 years at another campus and then come to University Park. Anybody, please can you explain this to me.

Chi, you can go to any campus (where the first 2 years you will likely be completing your general education requirements) and then for this particular program you have to transfer to Univ Park after 2 years where I gather you will concentrate on courses in your major. They dont offer those courses at the branch campuses so if you wish to complete this degree at PSU you have no choice but to transfer...

From PSU's Website

"Chemical Engineering (CH E )"

This program may be started at any campus and is completed at Penn State University Park.

Thank you very much. My next question will be - What is the process of transferring? Is it automatic or any requirements/filtering involved. Please can you tell me? Thanks

You are generally not admitted to a specific department until your junior year. Some departments within the College have enrollment caps; admission is generally decided by GPA. If you did not make the cutoff, you would need to choose another department. (Actually, I believe that all students are asked to rank their top three choices.) Students aspiring to Chem E transfer to UP after their third semester--
"Students who start at campuses other than University Park should transfer to University Park for their fourth semester so that they can take CH E 210 and 220. These two required classes are only offered in the Spring semester and are prerequisites for subsequent required courses. Delaying transfer by one semester will set the student behind by one full year." (Penn State ChE Undergraduate Students at Branch Campuses)
