Penn State- Essay?

<p>Hey, so does Penn State University Park have a particular essay question/topic they want with the application? I don't really care whether they recommend it or not, but I read that the "Application Essay" is "Considered", but can't seem to find it anywhere. The only thing I found was the "Personal Statement", is that basically the essay part for the applications?</p>

<p>Yes, the personal statement is the "essay." You will be asked to elaborate on one of your extracurriculars, and how that will help you during your time at Penn State. Something like that. Bear in mind you only have, if memory recalls, 1500 characters to work with. This also is optional.</p>
