Penn State Pre-Med Program

Can you tell me about the quality of PSU's pre-med program? Do a lot of grads get into medical school from the program? Is is rigorous? My daughter gets 100's in AP Bio and micro-bio - but has struggled with chem and physics to get grades in the low 90's. That's good, but not sure if it's pre-med good.

Can anyone offer any info?

While Penn State has a Pre-Med major, its course selections are pretty rigerous ones, selections that go above and beyond what is req for most med schools (ie: 12 credits of calc physics vs. 8 credits of algebra physics req for most med schools). Also, earning a B.S. in "Pre-Med" really limits your job prospects after grad....What if she doesn't get into Med School her first try..Or She changes her mind? Many students I have met who are planning on med school have various majors, from the std. Bio to biochem. Myself personally, is looking to med school with my double major in Food Science and Toxicology. If I choose against Med School I would plenty of Job oppurtunities that are well paid to take instead.
