Hey all,
I completed my Penn State application today and after looking back realized how stupid I was, in my hurry, I applied to University Park when I wanted to apply to Abington. The office is closed until the second of January and now i’m worried they won’t change it. Is there anything I could do?
Thanks
try sending admissions an email now, with something like “error on application” in the subject line. At least then you’ll be in the queue. I wouldn’t think there would be a problem switching TO a branch, assuming you are getting an offer. And then if you don’t hear back by the end of the week, call . But I wouldn’t call on Jan 2, when the lines are crammed.
Although…wouldn’t you prefer UP to Abington? (Just curious!)
Switching from most selective to less selective shouldn’t be a problem though.
Since i’m an international student, I won’t be able to pay UP’s fees for the full 4 years, although I hope to transfer to it at some point and graduate from there.
Then you should choose a campus where being international won’t be as lonely, such as Erie,Altoona, or Harrisburg. Abington is mostly commuter.
Agree with @MYOS1634 Apply to a commonwealth campus with more international students and traditional college atmosphere. Altoona, Harrisburg, Erie…all good choices in that regard. Not all commonwealth campuses are created equal.
