Penn State vs UConn Engineering

I was finally able to knock Virginia Tech and Texas A&M out of the equation, but I am still torn between attending UConn or Penn State for Mechanical Engineering this fall.

The two have very different reputations when it comes to engineering. I feel more at home at UConn, but that could be due to the fact that I’ve been there many times and it’s only 30 minutes from my hometown. That being said, I really do like the PSU campus, I just am not a huge fan of the distance from home. Will spending nearly twice as much at PSU OOS (although my family is perfectly capable and willing to) yield a higher salary, and is the better reputation worth it in general?

NO, spending more for PSU will NOT yield a higher salary. Companies do NOT pay PSU grads more than UConn grads…not at all.
