I got accepted into both Penn State University Park and University of Nevada Reno (which is my in-state school). At Penn State I would be majoring in Kinesiology and UNR health sciences. I do plan on going on to grad school and becoming an occupational therapist. I recieved a $6,000 per year scholarship from Penn State. I'm having a really hard time deciding whether to go to an all round better school (penn state) or just stay in state. Is Penn State worth the out of state tuition with the scholarship?

Maybe. What are the net costs for each?

Also, I assume UNR doesn’t have Kinesiology. How important is that to you?

UNR would be around 17,000 and Penn State around 28,00. Majoring in kinesiology isn’t all that important to me, I just found it to be the best fit to eventually go into occupational therapy.

You also need to consider travel cost to college. I suppose you live in Nevada? Since you have to attend grad school, Penn State might not be worth it.

Can your family afford Penn State with minimal loans? If not, then it’s a non starter. If so, I’d encourage you to look into it. Penn State is a far better school than UNR.
