pros vs. cons of both? what made you decide on one versus the other?

awwww this is so sweet. My former #1 (dart) and my current #1-2 (Penn).

well what made you change your mind?

Wharton is the best in its field but then for everything else Penn doesn't seem anywhere as good.

I would never go to Dartmouth because of its rural setting!

Isn't Dartmouth a love it or hate it kind of college?

It also could be on the list of colleges you've never heard of before but is ranked highly when you do research on colleges!

kjoodles? ***? "doesn't seem anywhere as good?" Now, I'll agree that any of the top tier schools is not really any discernable bit better than any other, but to say Dartmouth is categorically better than Penn in every sense but Wharton smacks of lunacy, and a lack of understanding of either school.

Febtober- I was actually just at Dartmouth this weekend for the football game- socially, Dartmouth is a MUCH different place from Penn. For me, Penn is the idyllic city campus, and Dartmouth is the idyllic middle of nowhere campus. Whereas Penn has a lot of options for things to do at night, at Dartmouth it's pretty much only frats. However, Penn is in a city, which can be more crowded and dirty, whereas Dartmouth is beautiful in a sweeping, grassy, fresh air, moon & starlit sky kind of way. Also, Dartmouth students play a really weird version of beer pong with paddles that is completely bizarre and evil.

I would be bored to death living at Dartmouth on a regular basis. But it's a nice place to visit. Of course it depends on which type of living you prefer.

I must say though, the Dartmouth pong was quite a fun game. (Random guys challenging me to chugging... not so much. But that is hardly something that only occurs at Dartmouth). But I still wonder where the Dartmouth students went, besides the frats campus was desolate and everything was closed.

Hey Muppet- I wasn't saying tha Dartmouth is categorically better than Penn in eery sense but Wharton- I was say that relative to Wharton, most of the other schools and stuff at Penn are not as good. NOT compared to Dartmouth or any other school or anything for that matter. Besides, I'm apply ED to Princeton so Dartmouth isn't anywhere at the top of my list!

Some departments within SAS (Econ, Anthro) are the Whartons of their respective fields. Most departments are top 10. Not too far off from Wharton, really

Also consider the unique interdisciplinary opportunities one has being a Penn undergrad and being able to take some business classes even as a non-Wharton student

So much academic excellence crammed in 4 city blocks...spectacular

From an academic standpoint, you can't go wrong at either one of the two schools. I think when choosing between the two its totally a matter of what type of location you prefer. I(being a Penn student) could never see myslef at Dartmouth because I just love living in Philly. But my friend who goes to Dartmouth its totally the opposite, so I guess in the end location is by far the most important factor.

If you like really bizarre class topics or you want to take a rare foreign language, Penn is your best bet. Also penn lets you take undergrad biz courses which I (as a SAS student) think is unique and really fascinating (especially this class on negotiations...fun stuff!)
