I went on it today, for no apparent reason.
It was all changed. First, it asked for you to be registered. THen the normal page comes up (the worksheet), but it didn’t have any of my scholarships on it. It only said Federal Stafford Loan.

my pennplan online still says i got $0 aid, although the letter they sent me did confirm that i got money...they must be really slow in updating the system. : /

Wow, I can't believe the new educational budget rose from like 45K to almost 50,000 dollars! Damn...
Good thing they adjust the fin. aid package for that, so I get more grants.
I love rich schools.

for those accepted ED, did your EFC change at all after filling out the FAFSA? My FAFSA EFC was 2k higher than the original EFC, but on the financial aid page it's still exactly the same as before

penn's F.A. sucks..but I'm international, so i guess I should be gratefull I got anything at all, but still having to pay 33500 out of my own ( well my parents) pocket does hurt....I'm considering the idea of taking out a loan so that my parents don't have to pay that much , and I'll pay it off once I graduate...aghh,but I;m still gonna call and see if there is any chance they could raise my F.A. ( I got way more money at JHU and colgate, but I honestly want to go to penn)

congratulations everyone!
i got a full ride at penn, and i'm so grateful. i just called this morning and confirmed that i'm getting all of the estimated grants :)
but... i forgot to ask... one of the costs they put into the 50k expenses were housing and personal expenses... does financial aid really cover that? i mean, i got enough to cover it, but idk how they would do that... does anyone know?

Jyankees, Penn doesn't rely on the FAFSA EFC. They decide what the EFC is themselves.

Yes, lunabanuna, Financial aid does cover housing, personal expenses, AND the meal plan. So basically, you don't have to worry about money at all. Congrats.

yeah the taxes were due by march 15. the student taxes were due on march 1. i turned in my taxes late though and they didn't really say anything. fafsa is due by April 15

I sent in the taxes already, but with my financial aid package, I got the forms that I had to fill out and send with my tax forms... so should I just send the taxes in again?

and my financial aid package is awesome. just a larger amount in work study than i wanted...

and as far as the 49,080 goes, does that cover everything, or are there other expenses I should add to my financial aid plan? So far there's "Tuition and Fees", "Housing", "Meals", "Books", and "Personal". What's covered under personal?
