I know there are a ton of threads about the education/social life at UT Austin vs A&M on here, but I would like to know what the people are really like at these schools. I know UT is a liberal school, while A&M is conservative, but from people who attend or have attended either of these schools, how would you describe the students at these schools? Is it easier to make friends at one more than the other? Are the people nice? Or stuck-up because they have money? And relationships. Are there more hook-ups at UT because it is a party school in comparison to A&M? I guess stuff like this is what I'm curious about: what are people like at these schools

I’m a student here at UT.

What are the people like? Well, no two people are the same. You have your sorority girls in t-shirts and jeggings, you have your international students with their myriad of languages, you have the kids from Austin who couldn’t be more at home, and so forth. Is it easy to make friends? I think making friends is easier when you get involved in at lest one of the many, many clubs UT has to offer. There’s everything from writing to religion to sports to My Little Pony. I think, all in all, I would describe the people here as very welcoming and nice. Going to my orientation I had no idea where the building was. This girl, a total stranger, escorted me to the building in the pouring rain. Still, I’ve met people who have rubbed me the wrong way for numerous reasons.

I guess the best part about UT is that the people are so diverse. It’s such a breath of fresh air to me.
